Service fees and conditions

1. Registration of mares

The mare to be inseminated has to be identified to Active Stables Op de Brant. This can be done by sending us a clear copy of the ancestry papers or when not registered by a studbook, by sending us a clear copy of the pasport.

We also need a full personal address of the owner.

2. Breeding season

The breeding season runs from 1st of april to the 1st of september

Frozen semen is whole year round available, if not sold out.

3. Procedure fresh semen

Fresh semen is sent by specialized transport.

Not on Sundays!

Shipping within the Netherlands and to Belgium; Sperm is delivered on same day as collected.

Longer shipping times apply abroad, keep that in mind.

Ship to Germany; Sperm will be delivered in consultation. This is often a day later in the early morning, then collected.

Other countries after telephone consultation.

Order semen by phone (+31 6 245 48 772): the evening before the collection. This is due to the travel time from Linus to the breeding station and the collection times of the semen express.

4. Service certificate

The mare owner returns the last insemination certificate to us, stating the last insemination date, if she is pregnant. Then you will receive the proof of cover from us. 

Registration with the AMHA is only possible if the mare is also registered there. The mare owner arranges the registration with a studbook himself.

If the mare is not in foal before the 1st of october 2024, we need an official and signed veterinarian statement. When this official statement is not received by us before 1st of october, you have to pay the pregnancy fee.

5. Health Certificates

For orders abroad, our stud station provides the necessary health certificates. The costs of the certificates will be charged to the mare owner.

6. Frozen semen

Purchase of frozen semen from Schaenzer's Silver Lining is per dose.

The number of straws per dose is determined by the breeding date quality test. One dose is enough for coverage.

Multiple doses can also be taken in consultation. Price is agreed upon in consultation. Per doses only 1 foal can be registrated.

It is allowed to cover several mares with your purchased frozen semen.

Frozen semen is sent in a special container. Rental and shipping costs of the container or purchase costs are for the mare owner. In case of rental, the mare owner must return the container at his own expense. In case of non-return, the purchase amount will be charged.

7. Invoices and Payments

The stud fee is exclusive of shipping costs and VAT.

For abroad the shipping costs are higher and the costs of the export certificate is also passed on to the mare owner.

The purchase of fresh semen from Schaenzer's Silver Lining is € 350. Pregnancy fee € 400

If the mare is not in foal, you pay the purchase price of fresh semen, plus shipping costs and costs for the certificates. If you do not have a veterinarian certificate, you also pay the pregnancy surcharge.

Fee for frozen semen per dose € 400,- per 3 doses € 1000,-

Price is per dose. No surcharge or refund of payment.

8. Liabilaty

By ordering and receiving the semen, the mare owner has taken cognizance of our breeding and payment conditions and declares to agree to these conditions and stud fees.

Active stable on the Brant accepts no liability for damage or illness.

Semen from Schaenzer's Silver Lining has been tested and approved.
